Will the real dream step forward?

How life can mimics dreams,

shadowing my wildest expectations,

and irreverent fantasies.

Confusion reigns, uncertainty lingers,

which is real, my heart’s dilemma .

My dreams they hold my mind to ransom,

the world I thought was real in question,

the contradiction of mind and emotions,

now haunts me, unanswered.

My dreams so perfect,

my hopes so eloquently portrayed,

my heart imbued with love and contentment,

how can I disregard them.

Life so filled with harsh resolve,

the petty wants of greed and persecution,

ashamed I am to witness this decimation,

this crusty shell of humanity.

Yet, in dreams my world in peaceful rest,

imbues my mind with serenity,

and I am transported to a garden

of endless growth and tranquillity.

It seems I choose one and live in another,

each reality of equal affect.

But then hope appears,

through the mist of bewilderment,

a soul as mine in human grace,

entreats my life to live in the human world.

My dreams suddenly become my life,

and tranquillity transforms

what was harsh to the loving hand of acceptance.

Where I choose to live is mine to decide,

and with her by my side I choose life.

But with all my thoughts and wonderings,

I cannot decide,

will the real dream please step forward.
