Simple with Meaning

Three littler words,

such fear they evoke,

such pain of past protests,

squirming within thoughts,

like freedom beckoning,

vulnerability abandoned.

Such simple words,

heart endowed,

worn on a sleave,

open, a life of chance,

that step of surrender,

release.

How they can change,

transform lives,

the end a new beginning,

a stand of hope,

the full stop

at the end of a sentence.

Those tiny words,

can melt a heart,

move a soul to acceptance,

to change,

to meanings unconsidered.

How I am transformed by those three simple words,

I love you.
