My Wish- at Three Months

By Tony DeLorger © 2011

Indelibly seared into my brain,

the first time I saw her smile,

her grace and ease so natural

her open heart and style.

My wishes lost to doubt, defeat,

resigned to life alone,

no thoughts of serious relationships

no place for a garden sewn.

Yet she sat before me and shared her life,

with an honest and natural air,

the flowing of her words complete

her stories with loving care.

Unable to hold my darkest past,

I opened all I am,

and together we found such common ground,

this beginning claimed and rare.

Lost was I within her eyes,

her kindness and gentle tone,

her loving heart unscathed and free,

was unexpected and profound.

Since then love has found us,

in every possible way,

within our hearts a home was built,

and we intend to stay.

My wish, a dream has realised,

and all my world has changed,

alone no more and love restored,

my crusty heart reclaimed.

Wonderful. I believe I need some energy for at first when I tried typing this comment it first came out as a bunch of jibberish. LOL. Anyway... this is a wonderful poem. Full of plenty of emotions. Voted up. Thank you for sharing.
