Accept or Perish Empty
By Tony DeLorger © 2012
Irrevocable my sense of right and perception,
swayed only by the evolving knowledge of being,
and the endless process of learning.
I am what I am despite my attempts
to fall for the enticement of self-gratification,
and the lesser persuasions of false ideals.
In the serenity of thought and self-realisation,
I can only accept my true nature
and accept the limits of the paradigms
with which I associate.
In pursuit of alternative realities, I am moot,
a blatant square peg in a round hole,
inept and wishful, yet wrong in every way.
However I see myself,
it is only truth that pleads expression,
and my vain attempts at charades,
is seen only as an object of ridicule and self-loathing.
My mind is set yet open to nourishment,
from only the heart of me and those whom I love,
and none can instil a false God within this crypt,
this casing of earthly existence, ready to expire.
My greatest challenge is acceptance,
of all that I am, my trespasses,
my inherent ineptitudes and potential,
all of which is expressing what I am,
however perceived.
I can in no way claim to be another, anything I am not,
for in this I am seen a fool,
a self-deceiving egocentric,
bent on destruction.
In struggle I must accept,
relent on the dreams of fancy that elevates me to delusion,
rather than the path of right
and the pure embrace of my soul.
